Civil / Structural Engineer

Shelia serves as a Project Manager in the Structural Forensics and Civil Structures groups and is well versed in the challenges associated with performing critical investigations and the analysis involved with the determination of cause and origin of structural failures. She has conducted condition assessments and investigations of commercial and residential buildings, high-rise condominiums, warehouses, seawalls, piers, boardwalks, retaining walls, bridges, and hotels. Sheila is a proficient writer of technical reports based on site visits and assessments of existing conditions, and providing cost estimates and design services for repairs, modifications, and restoration. She has been the lead on several construction projects, for both horizontal and vertical structural repair work.

  • Forensics: hurricane and emergency response, insurance claim inspections, building envelope, parking garage and elevated pool deck evaluation, moisture intrusion and waterproofing failure investigation, construction defect evaluation, building retrofits, and historical building restoration
  • Property Condition Assessments: milestone and structural integrity inspections and reporting, insurance inspections; condition assessments including, cost estimation of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings and properties, including historical buildings, high rise condominiums, shopping plazas, marina front structures, hospitals, and education facilities
  • Structural Engineering: high-rise restoration including construction management, seawall design, timber marina design, and roof design
