Sony Pictures Studios
Kimley-Horn provided civil engineering services for various projects on Sony Pictures Studios’ campus in downtown Culver City, CA.
Kimley-Horn’s work for the Culver Office Project (COP) included demolition of existing buildings, roadways, entry gate, and parking lots within their backlot. Services also included the design of new and relocation of critical existing utility lines, the construction of two new office buildings, a new parking structure, and a new entry road and gate. We also provided full civil engineering services during the planning, design, and construction stages of the project. This project is Certified LEED Gold for the two office buildings.
Other work on Sony’s campus has included storm drain improvements near Stage 6 on Main Street and 4th Avenue down to Avenue C; grading and drainage, utility relocation, and improvements along the major corridor – Main St. – on studio campus; a campus-wide utility infrastructure study; and grading and foundation layout of a structural rainbow art piece that’s 94′ high and 189′ in span.
