Navigating Industry Challenges Through Emerging Technology
The ENR Top 500 Design Firms announcement article also discusses industry hot topics—from workforce shortages to skill gaps to supply chain and economic changes. Executive Vice President Brent Mutti, PE, particularly underscores the importance of engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, and planning graduates, who can position firms for sustained success through a time of industry evolution.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is also increasingly being leveraged to mitigate some of these challenges, and firms are experimenting with how to effectively and safely integrate it into their design processes. Rather than seeing AI as a substitute for human expertise, firm leaders view it as a companion—supporting task automation and process enhancements so consultants can focus on providing clients with personalized, innovative services. Despite industry shifts, Kimley-Horn is committed to using AI and other technology solutions to overcome obstacles and continue providing a space for our people to thrive.
