Barry Barber Receives 2017 ACEC National Community Service Award
With 20 years of volunteer experience and a sustained commitment to service, Kimley-Horn’s Barry Barber, PE, received the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) 2017 Community Service Award—a national award that recognizes a principal or manager of an ACEC Member Firm who has made outstanding contributions to the quality of life in his or her community.
Outside of his daily duties at Kimley-Horn, Barry has led an organization that supports disadvantaged pregnant women, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and established a “backpack buddies” program at a local elementary school. Barry’s motivation to serve was also instrumental in the creation of the Kimley-Horn Foundation, a foundation that allows Kimley-Horn to give back to the non-profit organizations where our employees actively engage in volunteerism.
"Barry was instrumental in helping us take the concept of our Foundation and make it a reality. He helped develop the processes and procedures we needed to make it work. I don't know if it would have happened without him."
— Bob Wright, former CEO and Chairman of Kimley-Horn
