Kimley-Horn performed a stream mitigation feasibility study on 20,000 linear feet of Piedmont stream to determine the potential for stream and wetland mitigation and available mitigation credits. Based on the findings, Kimley-Horn completed permitting documents and final design plans for about 10,000 linear feet of channel and 3 acres of prior converted wetland, as well as 10,000 feet of preservation. As part of the stream restoration design, Kimley-Horn completed HEC-RAS modeling to gain approval from the county's floodplain manager and State of North Carolina. The project also involved extensive coordination with utility providers, along with full-time construction management and year 0 and year 1 monitoring.
