Kimley-Horn was selected to provide planning, permitting, easement plans, construction drawings, and construction management for 3 miles of restoration of the Torrence Creek system. The project incorporated the stream design with the proposed County greenway, including five pedestrian bridges. The firm was also responsible for permitting the restoration design and obtaining FEMA permits for the stream restoration and greenway. Kimley-Horn helped the County apply for and obtain American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding for "green" projects to fund the construction of the project, and prepared the ARRA application and obtained 404/401 permits and erosion control permits.
