Kimley-Horn was selected by the Federal Aviation Administration to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for a proposed new air carrier airport site in Bay County. Services included the preparation for and attendance at public and agency scoping meetings; extensive agency coordination; threatened and endangered species surveys; and preparation of purpose and need, alternatives, effected environment, environmental consequences, and mitigation sections of the EIS. Preparation of the EIS included independent verification of data and analyses included in the site selection study and feasibility study, prepared by others. Kimley-Horn also assisted the FAA in preparing the draft Record of Decision and the draft Administrative Record. With all approvals in place, construction of the new greenfield airport was completed in May 2010.
