The ORT-Lite project was a fast-track, cost-conscious initiative of Florida's Turnpike Enterprise to institute Open Road Tolling (ORT) on an interim basis at the Lantana Toll Plaza. The project included pavement widening, milling, resurfacing, and overbuild of the roadway approaches to the Lantana Toll Plaza, overhead signage, pavement markings, guardrail installation, toll plaza modifications, equipment gantry installation, and traffic control analyses and plans. The complexity of the project required close coordination with Turnpike staff, toll equipment installers, CEI staff, and the contractor in the field.
