Market Street Corridor Study

Kimley-Horn led the Market Street Corridor plan and implemented strategies that better integrate transportation and land use planning policies and principles. The firm conducted multi-day design charrettes to address land use policies and develop conceptual designs for the corridor. Community collaboration resulted in positive support of the overall plan, which included detailed market analysis; an overlay or zoning ordinance to improve development patterns and encourage access management strategies; an interconnected collector street plan; a bicycle/pedestrian planning element; and several innovative design techniques for interchange/intersection treatments. The study led to investment improvements of the Kerr Avenue square loop design, landscaped medians, and intersection spot-safety.
