Prior to this project, Kimley-Horn's transportation planners collaborated with our urban designers to develop a "Renaissance Plan" for downtown Wake Forest. This process resulted in a variety of proposed infrastructure-related improvements, including construction of new roads and several streetscaping projects. We developed a small area transportation plan, which involved traffic forecasting, simulations, concept designs for three roadway corridors, and environmental screening for the proposed improvements. Subsequent streetscape enhancements for Franklin Street included installation of a landscaped median, roundabouts, sidewalks, lighting, and a gateway design.
