Kimley-Horn provided services for the planning, design and implementation of a transit priority system along East 14th Street/International Boulevard/Broadway/Telegraph Avenue in San Leandro, Oakland, and Berkeley in conjunction with the AC Transit Rapid Bus Program. Design elements included Opticom preemption equipment, signal interconnect, CCTV cameras, vehicle detection, and traffic signal modifications, as well as signal timing and evaluation services for the project. Kimley-Horn worked with Caltrans and BI Tran Systems to implement the software modifications necessary for system operation.
