Since 1999, Kimley-Horn has provided on-call traffic and engineering services to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, including traffic analysis and preliminary design for terminal 6; traffic analysis for the eastside development; traffic projections for the I-190 phase I engineering study; alternative lot layouts for the commercial vehicle holding area; surface transportation planning and traffic analysis for the Modernization Program EIS; and a review of the parking system and proposed improvement and expansion plans. In 2009, the firm provided airside engineering services including extending Runway 9R, and the extension of parallel, connecting, midfield, and cross-wind taxiways. Kimley-Horn was the lead consultant on the horizontal geometry for ADG-V & VI taxiways, airfield electrical design, and pavement markings and grooving, as well as the overall Quality Assurance Manager.
