Kimley-Horn conducted a planning study to identify strategies and measures for improving multimodal safety and accomodation along arterial roads in Arlington County. Among the study's primary goals were improving bicycle and pedestrian safety and accommodation, reducing vehicular travel speeds, improving transit accommodation, and enhancing vehicular safety. More than 50 public meetings and events were facilitated during the study. Policy decisions arising from the study resulted in a number of County-led projects to reconfigure arterial streets to meet study goals. Kimley-Horn provided planning, landscape architecture, public facilitation, and engineering services.
