Kimley-Horn is involved in the development of an approximately 14.5-mile, high-level BRT project through the San Francisco East Bay area. The project includes dedicated transit lanes in existing arterial rights-of-way, light-rail-like stations, and various station and passenger amenities. Kimley-Horn is preparing the Final EIS for the proposed project. The project is on track to receive $75 million in federal funding under FTA’s Small Starts (Section 5309) program. The Cambridge-Kimley Horn team prepared the Small Starts submittals on behalf of AC Transit. Kimley-Horn is currently leading preparation of the project’s final environmental impact statement (NEPA) and environmental impact report (CEQA). Kimley-Horn has also completed a number of noise, visual impacts, community impacts, and operations and maintenance costs studies.
