Careers for College Students and Recent Grads

Looking for a great place to start your career?

Our college recruiting program is part of our business strategy at Kimley-Horn. We know that today's entry-level candidates are highly engaged, technically adept, and that their new perspectives and refreshing energy play an essential role in the long-term success of our firm. We search for talented individuals from colleges and universities across the country who strive for excellence, have a passion for learning, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit that complements the ever-changing needs of our clients.

After coming on board, we’ll work hard to further develop your talents. An EIT or “analyst” at Kimley-Horn hits the ground running as a valued member of the team from day one. Our culture provides an environment of hands-on learning through work on challenging and diverse projects. But that’s just one piece of the development puzzle. We believe in investing in our professionals with time, training, and tools designed to build success. Formal training, career development reviews, and active Young Professionals Groups are just a few of the tools available. The latest addition to our array of resources is called The Well-Rounded Analyst. This self-paced guide provides thoughts, suggestions and a series of exercises that are designed to jump start a successful consulting career.

However, you won’t be alone. As we groom our new professionals for growth and development, our analysts are supported and coached by senior staff. They will rely on you to think on your feet, interact with clients and other professionals, and not be afraid to ask questions. Our most successful analysts are confident. They are motivated by the opportunity to engage in creative problem solving under the guidance of leading professionals in their field. Our goal is to provide you with the tools to be successful, to help you find your passion, and then to step out of your way – supporting you as you reach your full potential throughout your career at Kimley-Horn. If you want to jump-start your future, Kimley-Horn might be the right fit for you.

In addition, we offer internships, which provide a win-win opportunity for interns to gain valuable experience and to allow both you and Kimley-Horn to decide if a career in consulting is right for you. Kimley-Horn hires interns across the firm to join a project team and work on real projects. As an intern, you’ll see how classroom theory transforms into real life situations. You’ll receive practical yet challenging experience working with mid- to senior-level employees. Your role in the group is an important one, your work is taken seriously, and you are counted on as a contributing member of a team. Because our interns are given challenging responsibilities that lead to the overall success of our organization, we prefer to hire rising juniors and seniors who have completed some of their core classes. Our internships typically last for three months and we regularly convert top performing interns to full-time hires upon graduation.
